The Duo
Felipe Lopez
Felipe Lopez is a Multi-Dimensional self-taught visual artist based in Houston, Texas. Due to his background in the visual arts, Lopez is able to offer his services as a web designer, photographer, developer, and artistic consultant. Born in New York, Lopez's career began with his mixed media drawings & paintings. At this time, he also studied audio engineering, sound design, and projections at the Dubspot Academy in NYC. In 2013, Felipe's work was included in two large exhibitions at prestigious institutions: the Exposure photography exhibition in Long Island City, NY and the African American Artist Exhibition at the MFAH. His first solo exhibition took place in 2014 at the HAA Gallery. Fall 2014, Felipe expanded on new multimedia works along with a new series of paintings and sculptural works including his Hookseries. In December 2014, Felipe exhibited work at Art Miami. 2015 brought work shown at the African American Artist Exhibition at the MFAH, Houston Fine Art Fair, Texas Contemporary Art Fair, and the KCAM. Combining the trade of welding along with his skills in visual art, Lopez has developed his Hook series into sculpture, mixed media, and painting. His work was featured by Cindy Lisica at Revision Space in Pittsburg, PA in April. His solo show in May 2016 at the KCAM was his most encompassing exhibition to date. Summer 2017 also brought another solo exhibition at The Duende Art Project. In the Fall of 2016, Felipe was selected as an Artist INC Artist Facilitators thru Fresh Arts and completed his mentorship program in 2016. Felipe’s latest Lightbulb series was also a major success at the show Natural Flexibility at Cindy Lisica Gallery in the spring of 2017. This work along with other series including monoprinted sculptures are represented by Cindy Lisica Gallery. Currently he has work in the gallery's latest group show for PrintHouston 2017 along with work going to the Aspen Art Fair. Felipe is now working on creating mixed media work through the use of his art, projections, and music including collaborations with other artists, dancers, poets and more throughout the City of Houston through Artsnewmedia. Lopez’s involvement with FM Services looks to aid other startups, artists, and professionals in maximizing their product and craft to the next level. Meghan Lopez
A native Houstonian, Meghan Lopez brings 12 plus years of experience in the arts, local culture, and community to her position. A classical musician and writer with the passion for innovative public relations, insightful event planning along with strategic marketing, Hendley prides herself on championing the inspired city of Houston and beyond. An accomplished wordsmith who is strategy savvy, Meghan draws upon her experiences in the music industry, journalism, radio, arts administration, event planning, artist management, branding, and PR crafting the ideal brew of insight and innovation needed in the media industry. She has been a music instructor for Bach to Rock Memorial and International Music Academy. Over the years, Meghan has made her mark in the community while enhancing the cultural landscape that has rewarded her with amazing opportunities. Studies at the Moores School of Music and The Honors College at the University of Houston formed her foundation, enhanced with a six year stint as a reporter for ‘The Front Row’ arts magazine show for then Houston Public Radio. As a print journalist, she ongoingly presents informative articles in local and national publications such as Free Press Houston, Arts + Culture, Houston Press, Art Houston Magazine, along with Architecture News. In the midst of these multiple opportunities, Meghan found her true niche in event planning and public relations. The act of prominently promoting, revealing the hidden story, and boldly presenting naturally came for Hendley as she assisted with such events as Red Bull Illume National Touring Photography Exhibition, Texas Village Fair and Music Festival, Houston Arts Resource Fair with Houston Arts Alliance, and more. Drawing upon her experience on the other side of the coin as a journalist, audience member, and consumer, Meghan thinks from both sides of PR.
